End of Week 8 Update

SO I have been incredibly busy these past few weeks! My roommate is sleeping right now which is why this post isn’t a video but I hope you enjoy the update anyway…

Two weeks ago I went to Amsterdam with four other people on my trip, and honestly I wish I had spent my time and money elsewhere :/ There wasn’t much to do and the beauty of the canals will only hold your interest briefly.

On the other hand, Ireland last weekend was really awesome! My last name may be German, but I am in fact more Irish than German. I took a cab at 4am to get on a bus by 5 to make our flight by 9 and then another bus to our hostel in Dublin. We took a city tour and saw things like the Dublin Castle, the Guinness Brewery, the Old Jameson Distillery, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. My friends and I got certified in ‘pouring the perfect pint’ of Guinness and I am an Official Jameson Taste Tester with certification to prove it lol (photos on facebook).

We also took a tour to the Cliffs of Moher (you may have seen them in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince) and they were absolutely gorgeous! Ireland was pretty chilly and we ended up staying the night at a hostel in a little college town called Galway and it was pretty cool except it rained almost the entire time :/

We went to one play and two concerts this week - Cherry Orchard, Polllini, and Eric Clapton. I’m sad to say that Clapton was a bit disappointing. I expected the concert to be like any other rock concert I’ve attended - people screaming the lyrics , yelling, cheering, and throwing beer everywhere. Nope. The concert was in the Royal Albert Hall and the average age of the people there was at least 55. Everybody sat in their seats and clapped politely at the end of each song. Lame.

Last night our flat and the new people in the flat above us all went out for our last Friday in London! We went to an Aussie place - Walkabout - and I have significant hearing damage lol.

This morning I am going to Hampton Court Palace with Emily because apparently this castle has a cool garden maze/labyrinth. I’m exhausted but ready to make the best of my last week in London, England. :)

Can’t wait to see all my family and friends back in O-H-I-O !

Ahhhh I haven’t updated this in forever but just know that I have been incredibly busy and plan to share more in the future! My Dad visited me in London this past weekend and we had a blast! Went on the London eye, walked around parliament square and Westminster Abbey, Saturday we took a tour of Leeds Castle, saw the white cliffs of dover, took a tour of Canterbury Cathedral then saw Greenwich and had a river cruise up the Thames! Ate lots of great food toured the Tower of London and Churchill War Rooms before seeing Buckingham Palace and calling it quits. Monday I went to Stonehenge and Bath with my friend JT then partied it up at The Verve until they kicked us out at closing at 3am lol! Got to bed after 4am and had to be at a concert at 9. woohoo. needless to say I took a verrryyyy long and much needed nap! Amsterdam this weekend - can’t wait!

Home safe from Paris! Home of course meaning London :) More updates later, including pictures and/or videos when I have a large chunk of free time. The weather has been incredibly hot, about 77 degrees F and silly me for thinking London might not get that warm while I was here, so I only packed about 2 pairs of shorts, so tomorrow, we shop!

Hey there! I just wanted to let it be known that if you facebook message me between 1-7pm Eastern time I will get texts on my phone and if you set up your mobile account on facebook we can text each other through facebook messages FOR FREE! I have set it up so that I only receive texts during these times because this is when they are free with my UK phone plan. Otherwise texts are pretty expensive, I only have like 200 so I’m saving them for the people I need to text in my program. So message me anytime between 1 and 7pm!
